The Sorento is Kia's entry into the cross-over utility vehicle (CUV) segment. The Sorento features unibody construction and a streamlined, modern appearance.

The Sorento is available in front- or all-wheel drive in five- or seven-seat configurations. A 185-hp direct injection 2.4-liter four-cylinder; a 240-hp 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder; or a 290-hp 3.3-liter V6 are the available engine choices. All models are equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission. Alloy wheels, satellite radio, steering wheel audio controls, a rearview camera, fully automatic headlamps and anti-whiplash head restraints are just a few of the standard features offered. Some of the available options are; dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, navigation system, proximity entry and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

For 2018 the Sorento adds a rearview camera as standard on all trims and rain-sensing wipers on the SX, SXL, and EX V6.
